A prominent PDP stakeholder and former National Youth Leader frontliner, Edede Franklyne, popularly known as "Capacity
Cardinal Comrade," has taken a swipe at Deji Adeyanju, an Abuja-based social commentator and lawyer. Edede accused Adeyanju of being a "briefcase/cash-and-carry activist" who engages in unwarranted and sponsored attacks on PDP national leaders, including the National Working Committee (NWC) and FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
Edede, a vocal and courageous activist with a strong background in student unionism and youth leadership, expressed regret over Adeyanju's actions, noting that he is not a member of the PDP but is "crying more than the bereaved." Edede warned Adeyanju to desist from further insults on the party leadership or face the consequences, which he termed "maximum shishi."
The PDP is not a platform for opportunistic individuals to launch their selfish interests," Edede stated. "We will not tolerate any form of sabotage or character assassination from within or outside the party."
Edede also questioned Adeyanju's moral authority to criticize others, given his alleged history of acting incentivized. He wondered why Adeyanju has not criticized the Tinubu government despite the widespread hardship, hunger, and poverty in Nigeria, suggesting that Adeyanju may have been "settled" by Tinubu's son through his elder brother, Tosin Adeyanju, an appointee of Bola Tinubu.
Edede, who is the founder of several organizations, including the PDP National Rebirth Group and African Citizens for Justice and Good Governance, called on unsuspecting Nigerians to disregard Adeyanju's pretentious activistic tendencies. He thanked his colleagues in the media profession for their meticulous reportage and urged PDP young leaders to prepare for the emerging national tsunami through the People's Democratic Party.
