The 2027 Imo Governorship hopeful, Chief Charles Orie of Ohaji in Owerri Province, reacting to questions from some Imo citizens in the diaspora who paid him solidarity visit yesterday,
stated that the issue of insecurity in the South East particularly in Imo State would have been over by the time he would assume office as Imo Governor, given the critical actions both the Federal Government and South East Governors have continued to deploy in checkmating criminal activities that have been ravaging the South East.
Affirming his capacity to consolidate on the successes made in the holistic battles against banditry and kidnapping, the Ohaji Prince assured his guests that he will surely defeat insecurity in Imo if the menace did not abate by the time he gets into office.
Responding to one of his guests, a general overseer of a global church who proposed his intention to relocate the headquarters of his church to Owerri the Imo State capital when the Ohaji born technocrat Charles Orie assumes office as Imo Governor, the pragmatic Charles Orie declined the offer to building more churches in Owerri.
Chief Orie urged the G.O. to rather think of bringing essential infrastructure projects to the State that would directly benefit Imo people, such as schools, hospitals and businesses that create jobs. He stressed the urgent need for development initiatives that would return Owerri the Imo State capital, to it's glorious years and also extending to Orlu and Okigwe, which are components of the Imo Development master plan initiated by the late Sam Mbakwe, should be the priority for all Imo citizens. This narrations reflects the vision of Charles Orie for Imo State.
For Charles Orie, since coming to limelight decades ago, has focused on improving the social standard of the people and encouraged associates and the youth to joining hands with him to build a better society. A peace maker who has helped the political class in revolving several major chalkengs, it is evident that everything Charles Orie touches turns to success, which is the spirit and action he aims to continue as a Governor. This goes with the saying that: ...for any man to build from obscurity to greatness, he deserves public trust, to encourage him to do more.
Every city in the world has it's peculiarity, same with Owerri the capital of Imo State. Therefore, it can only take a Governor with knowledge of the peculiarity of his State to maximize the potentials of both the people and the natural resources. This is a major reason Imo people should be excited about the coming of Charles Orie as Governor, given the virtues that surrounds him, coming with full trust of the people of Orlu, Okigwe and Ohaji enclave in Owerri Province, being the most economic viable region of not only Nigeria but the entire Africa.
The global real estate industry, platforms for contractual negotiations and procurements, and hospitality management, where Charles Orie thrives as a major player, was the driving force in the glorious days of Imo State prior to this era of insecurity, therefore it is only a Governor with clear knowledge of the current challenges and vast contacts to soften the grounds, should lead the God's-Own-Srate, in order to neutralize every restiveness and rekindling hope in the minds of investors so they can return to the State. This is the sure path to recovery of the Imo State's collapsed economy.
Leaving their hosts, the diaspora guests thanked Chief Charles Orie for hosting them and also over the constructive engagements. They expressed optimism that he is the best option for Imo State in 2027 not only because of his qualifications and capacity but also as a result of his closeness with major political players both in Imo State and across Nigeria.
