Nation Mourns Loss of Former Leader, Flags to Fly at Half-Mast

[London], [13th July] - Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has passed away at the age of [81] after a prolonged illness. The news was confirmed by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, who described the former President as a stalwart of Nigerian politics.


According to sources close to the family, President Buhari died at a London clinic earlier today. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered all national flags to be flown at half-mast as a mark of respect for the departed leader.


Vice President Kashim Shettima has been directed to travel to the UK to accompany Buhari's body back to Nigeria. Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced by the family.
